Kunstverein
The Kunstverein St.Gallen, founded in 1827, is one of the oldest cultural associations in the city, and with its ca. 2,000 members, it is by far, also the largest. Since the nineteenth century, it has been the driving force for the development of the fine arts in St. Gallen and presents top rank exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen. The Kunstverein enables visitors from the City and Canton of St. Gallen, as well as from Switzerland and abroad, the chance to encounter seminal artworks from the past and present. In addition, it provides substantial support and sponsorship for the creation of art in the region. With its temporary exhibitions of contemporary and historical art, the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, thanks to the sponsorship by Kunstverein, enjoys an international presence.
